Communicate 1.1.2 Laws of Communication Quest

How can one refrain from violating FERPA guidelines in online communication?

By following FERPA guidelines violations will not occur.  As I have learned in other quests, students must receive instruction on the guidelines, copyright,  and fair use.  Above all students must be taught to never put personal information on the Internet.

What methods could be employed to verify that copyright is not being violated?

I always tell my students to list their source so they will not violate any copyright laws.  I think that this should be addressed in the AUL policy. At my school if there is a question about copyright rules, our media specialist is a good source.  Of course one can always do a quick Google search.

Does copyright require that all work, images, words, and graphics be original?  Yes
